Each year on 27 January, Holocaust Memorial Day commemorates the millions of Jewish people murdered during the Holocaust, as well as other victims of Nazi persecution and subsequent genocides.
The theme for this year's Holocaust Memorial Day is 'Be the light in the darkness'. 樱花动漫 branches and members are encouraged to observe the day by reflecting on the different forms of darkness we face, from identity-based persecution to denial of justice - as well as the ways in which we can 'be the light' through acts of solidarity, resistance and education.
This year, the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust is also organising a national online memorial ceremony at 7pm; we encourage 樱花动漫 members to attend this and join those across the country in lighting a candle at 8pm to commemorate those killed in the Holocaust.
